What we build

Many trades.
One workshop.

This is a creative workshop, not a commodity fabricator. A fit-out draws carpenters, cabinetmakers, machinists, welders, sculptors and scenic finishers together under one roof, so the build and the finish are coordinated rather than handed between shops. Here is what goes into a gallery.

We fabricate the fit-out in the workshop and install it on site, to the exhibition designer's intent. It is the same workshop, trades and materials that build for the stage - see Sets, Scenery & Props. Not sure where your brief sits? and we will scope it with you.

What Museum & Gallery Fit-out is

A fit-out,
built to last.

Museum & Gallery Fit-out is TSA's in-house exhibition fabrication service - fine joinery, cabinetry, plinth work, showcases, sculpture and conservation-grade finishes, built by carpenters, machinists, welders, sculptors and finishers under one roof. The workshop fabricates the fit-out and installs it on site, to the exhibition designer's intent, with the drafting and engineering coordination behind it.

This is the same workshop that builds for the stage - a creative shop set up for high-scope, bespoke work, not commodity runs. Heritage recreation is a signature: for Little Lon at Melbourne Museum, two 1860s houses were recreated down to hard-plastered walls, creaking floorboards and bluestone paving - a build delivered under Show Works, now a TSA-owned brand. Part of the Sets, Scenery & Props group.

What you get

A fit-out built to
the designer's intent.

A fit-out is a coordinated build, not a stack of parts. You get joinery, cabinetry, plinths, cases and finishes fabricated in-house, conservation-grade, and installed on site to the designer's intent - with the drafting and engineering coordination behind it.

Built for a gallery that opens every day.

Permanent fit-outs are designed to the realities of sustained public use: daily footfall, serviceable access and finishes that hold up. Conservation-grade, built to last past opening week.

We fabricate the fit-out and install it on site. It is the same workshop, trades and materials that build for the stage through Sets, Scenery & Props. Museum work only crosses into motorised movement or show control on the rare exhibit that needs it - otherwise it stays a fabrication and install job, end to end. Either way, you deal with one team.

Fine joinery, cabinetry, plinth work, showcases, sculpture and metal and timber fabrication, plus specialty construction in acrylic and silicon and conservation-grade finishes. The same workshop, trades and materials that build for the stage, pointed at permanent displays and touring exhibitions.
Both. We fabricate in the workshop and install on site, building to the exhibition designer's intent. Elements are made for the room they go into, then fitted out in place by the same team.
Yes - heritage recreation is a signature. For the Little Lon project at Melbourne Museum two 1860s houses were recreated with hard-plastered walls, creaking floorboards, rusting corrugated iron and bluestone paving - a build delivered under Show Works, now a TSA-owned brand. We build period texture and surface, not just a clean reproduction.
Timber, plywood, paint finish, acrylic, silicon and metal, with CNC design and fabrication for precision components - a workshop that can weld, turn and machine in-house, not a single-material joinery shop.
Yes. We build permanent gallery fit-outs designed to the realities of sustained public use, and touring exhibitions engineered for repeatability, transport efficiency and rapid deployment from venue to venue, with conservation-grade finishes either way.
Concept to crowd

Build it.
Make it last.

Tell us about your exhibition - the design intent, the materials and finishes it calls for, the institution and your install dates. A TSA project lead will scope the fit-out with you and the workshop will fabricate and install it, Australia wide.
