Slings, shackles, rope and tape. Stocked to rig.
The wear-and-replace layer of a rig - round slings, shackles and chain, steel wire rope, rope and cord, and tape. Selected, tested and stocked for stage use, not pulled from a generic industrial catalogue.
Five families.
One rig kit.
The parts a rig uses, inspects and renews - grouped into five families. Start from the job in front of you, then pick the rating, length or finish the rig calls for.
The wear-and-replace
layer of a rig.
Rigging consumables are the parts of a rig that get used, inspected and renewed - the round slings, shackles and chain, steel wire rope, rope and cord, and tape that hang the load and keep a deck safe. TSA stocks all five families to theatrical and venue specification, not pulled from a generic industrial catalogue.
Every item is selected, tested and stocked for stage use: soft steel and synthetic round slings rated to EN 13414, bow shackles to 8.5 tonne, Grade 80 chain, 22 wire-rope configurations, natural and synthetic rope, and the ten-type Tenacious Tapes range. Clamps, couplers and suspension hardware sit alongside in the rest of the Lifting & Rigging range.
One sling, three hitches. The galvanised steel core carries 2,000 kg on a direct hitch, 4,000 kg in a basket and 1,600 kg in a choke - check the core through the velcro window without removing the sleeve.
Four jobs, one store.
Pick the family,
not the compromise.
Five consumable families, each the right answer to a different job on the rig - here is what TSA stocks in each, and how to spec the one your rig needs.
Everything here is selected for stage use and stocked in Australia. Slings are rated to EN 13414 at a 5:1 safety factor, chain runs to Grade 80, and the tape range covers ten theatrical types. Black is the venue default across the hardware.
One sling, three hitches.
The soft steel round sling carries 2,000 kg on a direct hitch (4,000 kg basket, 1,600 kg choke) on a galvanised steel core in a black sleeve with a velcro inspection window - built for permanent rigs and crush-prone points. The synthetic round sling is lighter and faster for touring and load-ins. A different tool for a different job; TSA stocks both.
Connect, bridle and master.
Bow shackles from 0.5 to 8.5 tonne in black or galvanised, the Grade 80 TSA Masterlink for single and double-leg assemblies, T.R.A.C. theatrical alloy chain rated 5,400 kg in tagged 1.5 m lengths, and the Tourslider for tool-free chain management on electric hoists. Black is the theatrical default across the range.
The lines that fly the show.
Steel wire rope in 7x7, 7x19 and 1x19 constructions from 1.5 to 8 mm, in galvanised or stainless, across 22 stocked configurations for counterweight, loft and running rigging. Plus 5 mm steel wire droppers in black or galvanised, 1 to 7 m. Send the application and we will spec the construction and breaking load.
Haul, belay and tie off.
Counterweight hauling lines in three-strand manila and flax hemp at 18, 22 and 24 mm, GeoTwist Hempex synthetic at 20 and 22 mm, the matte-black polyester TSA Bowline Braid from 3.5 to 12 mm that handles like cotton sash cord, and Response LSK 11 mm static line - which pairs with the Hexaratchet ratcheting pulley for hauling and holding high loads.
Mark, mask and mend.
Ten theatrical tapes from one supplier: premium gaffa in seven colours, spike tape in seven including three fluoro for floor marking, matte-black gaffer for broadcast and camera, scenic paper tape, cloth and carpet tape, double-sided cloth and foam, and a pipe-and-drape tape formulated to peel clean off fabric.
