Plan it before you call

Two tools.
One straight answer.

Size a hoist against your load, or walk a venue and see what does the lifting. Both take minutes, and both end with a spec you can hand straight to us.

Choose your rigging

Start with
what's going up.

Every rig starts with the load. Pick what you're lifting or hanging and we'll point you at the family that carries it - the hoist, the structure, the control and the fittings in between.

Five families sit behind the four answers. Everything the chooser points at is rated, supplied, installed and recertified by the same team.

Fly systems

The systems that fly the show.

A fly system moves scenery, lighting and drapes above the stage: counterweight line sets flown by hand, motorised sets driven by hoists, or dead-hung grids where nothing moves at all. We design, install, upgrade and service all three, Australia wide.

Already flying? Book a fly system inspection and have every sheave, arbor and rope lock checked end to end.

Chain Hoists & Motors · Lift & control

The over-stage workhorse.

D8 Plus chain hoists from 350 kg to 2.5 t, double-braked as standard, stocked in Australia and supported for life. The EXE Ace entry model covers build-and-install lifts that never hang over people.

Pile Hoists · Lift & control

The built-in venue hoist.

The Australian-made electric pile wind hoist for venue bars - wire rope rather than chain, with a standalone pendant or networked touchscreen control and position recall.

Hoist Controllers · Lift & control

Every hoist, answering one operator.

Basic, Pro, Toggle and Smart - the Atlas controller range, designed and built in-house on a shared 24V control platform, from 4 to 24 channels, so models mix and grow within one rig.

Stage Truss & Structures · Structure & stage

For the spans a bar can't make.

X and H series box and flat aluminium truss with die-cast end plates, plus towers, corners and ground support - one cross-compatible system that keeps working years after the first order.

Modular Staging & Stage Decks · Structure & stage

A stage that arrives on a trolley.

Xstage S10 decks with interchangeable legs build stages, risers, ramps and thrusts - waterproof ply tops on an aluminium frame one crew member can handle, with guardrails and stairs to match.

Clamps & Couplers · Hardware & consumables

The load-rated joints of the grid.

Half, swivel, self-lock and quick couplers for scaffold, truss and fly-bar tube - every unit load-rated, stamped and stocked, so the joint is never the question mark in the rig.

Rigging Design & Documentation · Specify

The drawings your venue keeps.

Rigging plots, load calculations and certified load-bearing elements - the documentation that tells you, your engineer and your insurer exactly what is hanging and what it can carry. Produced before anything is ordered, kept for the life of the venue.

Rigging Installation · Deliver

Built into the venue you already have.

Bars, hoists, grids and fly systems installed retrofit. We design around your structure, install in dark weeks and term breaks, load-test the result and hand over with the documentation attached. Whole-venue fit-outs run as integrated venue engineering projects.

Hoist & Motor Servicing · Maintain

Any brand, certified for twelve months.

Electric chain hoists of any brand serviced, load-tested and certified - in our workshop, on site or on tour. Every hoist leaves with its own certificate and its history tracked against its serial, so next year's service builds on this one.

Hoist & Rigging Hire · Hire

For a season, not forever.

Hoists, controllers, truss and hardware from the hire fleet, checked before and after every hire. When the job is a season rather than a venue's lifetime, hire keeps the capital in your production and the maintenance on us.

Performer Flying · Production Engineering

Flying a performer, not a truss?

Flying a person is its own discipline, with its own engineering, rehearsal process and sign-off. We take it end to end, from concept and engineering through rehearsal to show call - and the Hercules Performer hoist that does the lifting stays in our rigging stable.

Rigging is not a purchase, it is a system you operate for decades. The Health Check tells you where you stand; the programme keeps it there.

The bits people always ask.

If we missed yours, send it through. We'll get back to you.

Yes. Our technicians service and load-test electric chain hoists of any brand - in our workshop, on site or on tour. Every serviced hoist leaves with its own certificate, valid for 12 months.

It depends on what you are lifting, how the load is shared and what the structure above can take. The WLL stamped on the hoist is only part of the answer - run your job through the Hoist Selector, or talk to our team and we will size it for you.

They are entertainment duty classifications from the German industry codes most of the world rigs to. A D8 hoist lifts and holds loads but must not hold them over people without a secondary safety. A D8 Plus hoist carries double brakes and an 8:1 safety factor, so it can hold a static load over people without a secondary. Moving loads over people during a show is a different class again - ask us before you spec it.

Yes - most of our installation work is retrofit. We design around the structure you have, install the bars, hoists, grids or fly systems, load-test the result and hand over the documentation with it.

Yes. Hoists, controllers, truss and hardware are available from the hire fleet, checked before and after every hire. If the job is a season rather than a venue's lifetime, hire is often the right call.
